Fresh off riding for Team Canada at the Quebec Grand Prix, cyclist Garrett McLeod dropped by the VeloMetro office last week to check out the latest mechanical prototype and take it for a spin.
Garrett Takes the Prototype for a Spin
“Driving the VeloMetro VeloCar is a lot of fun; it just puts a smile on your face. Getting around is quick and efficient as you pedal while receiving remarkable power from the electric motor. As a professional cyclist, I love cycling and going fast. The VeloCar is a really cool transportation alternative. It combines the best of both worlds - staying clean and dry while feeling like you are riding a bike and having fun. The free speed provided by the VeloCar makes it easy to enjoy your commute.”

As an environmental engineer, McLeod was also impressed by the cutting-edge technology aspects of the design, “feeling the regenerative braking system working, makes you realize just how advanced the vehicle really is.”
Garrett McLeod Crossing the Finish Line
McLeod cycles locally for Team H&R Block. You can currently find him out at the Vancouver Cyclocross Series and training on the roads of the Lower Mainland. Garrett has competed internationally for the Canadian National team and won this years’ BC Provincial Road Championships.
